The Poker Players alliance (PPA) represents several thousand members who all strongly believe in a regulated and taxed online poker industry. The newly formed Obama government has hinted that online poker could soon be legalized to help stimulate and boost the countries struggling economey.

Alfonse D’Amato the Chairman of the PPA recently wrote an article in the popular Washington DC Roll Call paper. The article argued the case for a regulated online industry that would create thousands of jobs and billions in taxes, significantly helping the country's economy.

The former Republican Senator wrote, “While business leaders and politicians debate how much, or how little, we should regulate the business community, the online poker industry and the millions of Americans who play on the Internet have been crying out for regulation and taxation.”

Alfonse continued explaining two economic benefits of regulated poker, saying, “The absence of government regulation and, in fact, the quixotic efforts to ban Internet poker has left US consumers vulnerable and left billions in potential tax revenues on the virtual poker table."

The PPA firmly believe that taxes would generate billions, which are currently going to overseas countries where U.S players are taking part in games.
